About Us
The Haitian Leadership Awards Gala (HALAG) is a week-long event dedicated to showcasing the best that Haiti has to offer while celebrating milestones made by Haitians in Haiti and the Diaspora. HALAG highlight business achievement, honor corporate, public and grassroots individual as well as aspiring leaders in the Haitian community. This event is also a fundraiser to support some of our capital programs while celebrating Haitian culture and heritage.
Our Vision
HALAG hopes to annually bring together Haitians from everywhere for an unforgettable evening of giving and support in a unique event as a catalyst to inspire change in how Haiti and Haitians are viewed and presented across the globe as well as inspiring the upcoming generation for positive change and a brighter future.
Our 2024 Programs
HALAG will be fundraising for Lakou Association's two (2) capital program for 2024:
KONBIT: this initiative will be the biggest ever Haitian mass-action anti-liter environmental campaign. It is a community-led local environment rejuvenating program using community capacity building to enable local residents to improve their living environment and take pride in their local living spaces.
PWODIG: Build a Haitian Center that will serve as a cultural institution devoted to the preservation, and exhibition of materials focused on Haitians, Haitian-Americans, Haitian Diaspora, and Haitian experiences.
